පසුගිය ඉරිදා හවස් භාගය මා ගත කෙරුවේ, ගහක් කපන්න. මිදුළු කොනක, අල්ලපු වත්තට කිට්ටුවට වෙන්න වවල තිබුන, උස කේතුධර ගහක් කපල ඉවත් කෙරුවේ හේතු කිහිපයක් නිසා.
පාරේ බල්ලෙකු සමග ගිය සුද්දෙකු නතර වී, ඔව් තිබුනා නම් හොඳා, නමුත් උඹ වගේ තමා, මාත් ගෙවත්තේ තිබුන ලොකු ගස් සේරම වගේ කපල දැම්ම කියුව. විනාඩි දෙක තුනක් කතා කරපු එයා, හැපී ට්‍රී කටින් කියාගෙන ගියා.
මෝටරයෙන් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන කියත් කටුවක් තිබුණත්, අත් පොරවක් හා පොරවක් විතරක් භාවිතා කරලා ගහ මුලින්ම කපල ඉවර වෙන විට කළුවර වැටෙමින් තිබුණා. මා බලාපොරොත්තු වුණේ, මුදල් ඉතිරි කිරීම පමණක් නොවේ. මේ වගේ දේවල් නොකලොත් තවත් කාලය ගතවන විට, මොනම දෙයක් වත් කර ගන්න බැරි වෙනවා.
ආයුද ටික සුද්ද කර, ගෙට ගන්න හදන විට දුටුව අහස නිසා, මට පින්තූර දෙක තුනක් නොගෙන ඉන්න බැරුව ගියා.

You don’t have to ask permission for every occasion. If the tree was that large,I would not have attempted to cut it down by myself anyway.
However, you are right. These laws and regulations vary from state/territory to state or territory (in Australia). You have to check with your council before you remove large trees.
Current regulations are (in ACT);
Trees on private land
Work on existing trees on leased land over a certain size may require approval. Your application will need to include a tree survey and report by a qualified arborist that identifies the trees and the impact on them. Regulated trees:
are 12 metres or higher or have a canopy 12 metres or wider and/or
have a trunk circumference of 1.5 metres or more, one metre above natural ground level and/or
have two or more trunks and the total circumference of all the trunks, one metre above natural ground level, is 1.5 metres or more. (http://www.tccs.act.gov.au/city-living/trees/frequently_asked_questions_about_urban_trees).
In our area now it cheaper to cut the tree and pay the fine if council ask for tree.
